City of Plenty

Three years ago, when working on Plastici at Margot Lewer's home in Penrith, Lee-Anne Hall the director spoke with me about doing a project. This year it became reality. It has been documented by the students at Caroline Chisolm High School on this blog I was fortunate enough to have the great pleasure of assembling and arranging the donated works... For real, usually I go out seeking/collecting/gathering, THIS TIME IT CAME TO ME! What is more, at the end of the project it was donated to Penrith Community Kitchen, and Oz Harvest...benevolent goodwill...over $20,000 in non-perishables were donated, and much as I would've liked even more, I felt like I was the beneficiary of way more.

Vibrant Matter

At The Bearded Tit, Redfern Emma Price asked me to do the window of the bar, and in response to the surrounding area and Jane Bennett's wonderful book https://www.dukeupress.edu/Vibrant-Matter/, I installed a hodge-podge installation...haha you can see my fat feet in the bottom photo...

Red white and blue

Re-scheduled work; Have we found paradise? This world of plenty where 1/4 of the world consume 3/4 of the resources. Shocking shit out there. I joke that if the water levels rise, my works would all float. I often wonder what will happen to plastics in landfill over millions of years. This work is a couple of years old, and only the ABC shop bags have deteriorated.
I would like to cover a giant field with logos, I loved the AIDS quilt, and the mass of decoration as well as commemoration.
